Cultural performances dazzle audiences on inaugural day of Gopalpur Beach Festival
One of the most pristine beaches of Odisha witnessed a cultural extravaganza on Thursday evening as five-day Gopalpur Beach Festival kickstarted here in a bid to attract more explorers to the state.
The inaugural evening saw mesmerising Odishi and folk dance performances followed by concert of Bollywood singers Shabab Sabri and Nandini Deb and stand-up act by famous comedian Ahsaan Qureshi.
"Gopalpur is one of the important tourist spots of Odisha and through this festival, we would be able to attract more travellers. We are very much mindful about the safety and security of visitors and tourists,” affirmed State Tourism and Cultural Minister Ashok Panda.
As many as 140 stalls have been set up this time at Pallisree Mela. Besides, water sports, sand art exhibition, Food Mela were among the other attractions on the first day of the festival.
